The largest PIN of the week comes from the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA), which has unveiled plans to develop a new transport model for the region. The authority says it’s looking to harness improvements to modelling and simulation software to help address its “future mobility challenges”. WMCA has allocated £10m to the project, which will be delivered by a number of specialist suppliers.

Tenders
NHS London Procurement Partnership is inviting developers to join a new framework for health and social care apps. The framework, valued at up to £3bn, will provide the means for the public sector to “procure safe and clinically beneficial applications to meet their health and social care needs supporting patients, clinicians and non-clinical staff”. The deadline for applications is 4 November.

Awards
Hitachi Consulting has won the largest award of the week: a £50m contract to build a “digital control centre” for Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust and the Pennine Acute NHS Trust. The control centre, the award notice explains, is intended to bring together “the latest advances in data analytics and digital health” to modernise the way the trusts administer healthcare.
