The largest PIN of the week comes from Network Rail Infrastructure, which plans to procure a solution to test interoperability between trackside and on-board equipment. The deal is worth £6m and forms part of the Digital Railway Programme, which has been conceived to meet rising demand on the UK’s rail network.

Tenders
Kent City Council has unveiled plans to launch a software products and services framework valued at up to £500m. The framework will allow public sector organisations to procure a range of software including operating systems, HR and payroll systems, security software and virtualisation tools. Prospective suppliers have until 13 December to apply.

Awards
PA Consulting has won one of the largest awards announced last week: an £8m deal to develop information systems for the National Institute for Health Research. The deal was inked more than two years ago and will remain in place until 31 August 2020.
